Diablo 4 at Blizzcon 2016… if You Buy into Conspiracies!
Let the rumors begin! As part of the lead-up to Blizzcon 2016, there were a number of goody bags sent out by Blizzard to various streamers and YouTubers. Included in this goody bag was plenty of the usual fare such as a hammer, a Diablo dice bag and more. One item included in the bag, however, seems to be causing quite a stir. A misprinted D4 has Reddit and other forums buzzing that it’s the hint we all needed that Blizzard is set to announce Diablo 4. Popular YouTuber and Twitch streamer, Rhykker made a video summing up exactly what the misprinted dice could hint at and why. We’ve also explained it for you below.
For those of you who don’t know what a D4 is, it is a four-sided dice that is shaped like a triangle. When you roll the dice the number that is at the base of the dice and is upright is the number you rolled. No matter which way the dice is turned it will show that same number. Now, the misprinted D4 in question is, of course, a Diablo themed dice so that would be the first clue. The second and much more suspect clue is how the misprint shows up. In one particular instance, the numbers that are supposed to line up strangely don’t. When rolled the numbers on the base as you turn it line up to a 1, a 1, and a 4. In terms of using this die in a game, it makes it unusable but in terms of conspiracy theories it sets off fireworks!
Depending on how you may choose to read that die it is strange that the numbers are 114. If you look at that from a date perspective it could be 11-4, or November 4th, or the opening day of Blizzcon 2016. Now is that the world’s biggest hint or did Blizzard, who is known for their attention to detail and quality accidentally send out a bunch of misprinted dice? For the fans clamoring for a new game in the Diablo franchise, it’s gasoline on the fire.
