Hey Blizzard, How About a Free Copy of Overwatch?
You gotta hand it to Kyle; a brave man, a soldier (in the figurative sense), a husband. Kyle played the Overwatch beta and thoroughly enjoyed it. Kyle also has a collectibles habit and he wanted to add another item to his stash… a shiny copy of the official Overwatch release. Kyle asked his wife, but alas the story is not that of a fairytale, but of an uphill battle with a dragon. Kyle did not get Overwatch, so he did the unthinkable and wrote to Blizzard asking for a free copy of Overwatch. It went a little something like this:
As you’ll notice, Kyle wasn’t asking for a 100% free copy of Overwatch. He wanted to be gallant and offer up at least a small remuneration for his request. And so, Kyle offered up a picture of his ‘finest artwork’. In an even further attempt to turn the tides in his favor, Kyle included some official Blizzard gear in his artwork entitled ‘Deadpool Licking Some Rock. A Dog Watches’. If you look closely you’ll notice that the rock is actually a stress ball, of the Hearthstone variety. Well played, Kyle, well played.
Now the folks at Blizzard aren’t a heartless bunch and one of the many in their employ valiantly attempted to get the free copy of Overwatch that Kyle so desperately wanted. Girazere braved the wrath of the supervisor and walked into his supervisor’s office with the request. Luckily, the conundrum of ‘unlocking wife.exe’ was met with a measured response, rather than anger, but it was of no consequence. There was no free copy of Overwatch in Kyle’s future.
In an industry where we often take ourselves too seriously, this response is a hilarious breath of fresh air. We salute you Kyle. We salute you too, Girazere! Thanks for providing us with a solid belly laugh.
