Legendary Details for Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon Unveiled

Meet the Legendary Pokémon Solgaleo and Lunala in Pokémon Sun and Moon

The details of the Legendary Pokémon Solgaleo (on the box art of Pokémon Sun) and Lunala (on the box art of Pokémon Moon) were revealed in a new trailer today. The two legendary Pokémon will play a crucial role in the story, as Solgaleo and Lunala hold the key to the adventure that can be found in these highly anticipated games.

Solgaleo is a Psychic/Steel type, and is referred to as “the beast that devours the sun.” It has an attack called Sunsteel Strike, releasing a beam of light which ignores the target’s Ability. Solgaleo also has the Full Metal Body Ability, which stops its stats from being lowered.

Lunala is a Psychic/Ghost type, and is referred to as“the beast that calls the moon.” Lunala’s signature attack is Moongeist Beam, releasing a beam beam of light that disregards the target’s Ability. Its Ability is Shadow Shield, and it will take less damage from an attack that lands when the Pokémon has full HP.

Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon take place in the tropical Alola region, inspired by Hawaii. Professor Kukui is the Alola region’s Pokémon professor, and Lillie is a mysterious girl who assists him. In addition, Hau is a Pokémon-loving young boy with a big appetite who becomes one of the main character’s first friends on their adventure in Alola.

As for the Pokédex, Professor Kukui provides a special one known as the Rotom Pokédex. This Pokédex has its own shining personality. It provides information on Pokémon and advice on where to go next, based on the conversations players have with other characters.

Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon will launch in Japan, North America, and Australia on November 18 and November 23 in Europe.
