Bethesda Announced On Twitter Today, Mod Support For PS4 Is Having Serious Issues
Some bad news came today for PlayStation 4 owners of Fallout 4, it turns out the mod support beta which has been scheduled to hit this month has been delayed without any further explanation. Bethesda Games took to Twitter to spread the word that the mod beta has been postponed, meaning the public release is as well.
We regret to say that the PS4 Mods Beta for Fallout 4 has been delayed. We will update everyone when we can.

The news comes following Bethesda outlining their problems with PS4 mod support on their website on June 15th, they gave us a breakdown of their issues:
- PC textures are used. Memory and performance issues may occur. We are working with Sony on optimal texture exporting support in a future update.
- Sound files are currently not supported. PS4 sound format is a proprietary format. We are working with Sony on sound file processing support in a future update.
- PS4 Mod Storage limit is approximately 900 MB at present. Please do not upload mods larger than 900 MB. We are working with Sony to increase this limit.
The biggest setbacks are clearly the lack of sound files and 900 MB limit for mods whereas Xbox One stands at 2 GB. The Fallout 4 mods launched on Xbox One back in May and it has since received praise from fans all over about the simplicity of the interface.
Mods are created through PC and uploaded to Bethesda.net where Xbox One users can download them, it’s assumed that the PS4 version will work the same.
In the meantime, Fallout 4 just released its ‘Contraptions Workshop’ DLC on June 22nd. Two more planned DLCs are coming later on including Vault-Tec Workshop and Nuka-World which were announced at E3. COGconnected will update any future news regarding PlayStation 4 modding support.
