Blue Bomber 2.0 (Finally) Takes The Stage Towards The End of June
The notoriously hyped title Might No. 9 finally has a release date. The game’s been in production for just a shade over three years now, and has gotten a fair bit of interest generated towards it, both negative and positive. The spiritual successor to Megaman has quite an all-star development team behind it, but the reaction was admittedly mixed when first screens and gameplay were revealed, but this was quite some time ago, and naturally, any game has plenty of time to improve in that window.
Keiji Inafune is a man who should need no introduction, especially in this industry. He’s compared with the likes of Miyamoto in having contributed to the genre in never before-seen ways, and Megaman is an icon, to say the least. Beck’s design draws inspiration from The Blue Bomber, but rest assured, Mighty No. 9 is a beast all of its own.
Inafune’s shown he can handle new IPs without any issue, as Soul Sacrifice and it’s semi-sequel, Soul Sacrifice Delta were both received very well, and the team behind Mighty No. 9 is hoping to continue to build on their track record with this title. It’s been a long time coming, but with no new megaman games in the pipeline for the foreseeable future, fans will be eager to get their hands on games that at least come close to the style and feel of one of the most classic franchises in the industry.
The game is going to be released at various points, with North America and Asia getting the game first, on June 21st. The rest of the world will receive the title shortly after, dropping on June 24th, 2016. Portable versions will follow later, at an unannounced date. Comcept is eager to impress, and hopefully fans will be left satisfied, come Mighty No. 9’s release on June 21st.
