Here’s Why You Might Want to Buy Final Fantasy IX on Steam

Final Fantasy IX, now on Steam, has been given some new features that make it worth a second look

Ok, so we all love the Final Fantasy franchise, right? But the thing is, we have played them – been there done that. So, when SQUARE ENIX announced that FINAL FANTASY IX is now available on STEAM, you might have just shrugged your shoulders – fan favorite or not. But wait, you might want to consider picking this version up and reliving Final Fantasy IX all over again, because apparently it has some updates that make the experience feel new.

For example:

  • Full STEAM Trading card support means that you can earn achievements for replaying the classic game – ah, the rush!
  • It’s been optimized for the newer generation, so that means high-definition movies and character models. No more fuzzy pixels!
  • The game now has a new cloud save feature that allows players to back up save data to play across other compatible devices. That is huge.
  • There’s an auto save function, so now you don’t have to get to a save-point before storing your progress and going to sleep
  • Seven all-new optional booster features, including high speed mode and no encounter mode, which will allow you to automatically master equipped weapons and gear, as well as maximize character levels, magic stone counts and gil.

Bottom line, even of you have played Final Fantasy IX back in the day, and mastered it, all the new additions and updates will make the Steam version feel like a new experience. Hey, it’s up to you brah, we’re just sayin’.

If we managed to convince you with our very cogent arguments, than FINAL FANTASY IX is now available on STEAM for a discounted price of $16.79 until April 20th, and will then be priced at $20.99.

For those new to the game – first off, you’re in for a treat. Originally released in 2000 (you know, “the olden days”), it tells the story of the bandit Zidane Tribal, who plans to kidnap the princess of Alexandria, Garnet Til Alexandros the 17th, with the troupe of thieves known as Tantalus. An unlikely series of events set Zidane, Garnet, the shy yet powerful black mage Vivi Ornitier, the loyal knight Adelbert Steiner, and other memorable characters on an epic journey as they learn about themselves, the secrets of the Crystal, and a malevolent force that threatens to destroy their world.
