Short Circuit’s Johnny Five is ALIVE!
The LEGO Ideas program has been responsible for some of the coolest LEGO sets we’ve ever seen. From the Back to the Future DeLorean, to the Ghostbusters’ Ecto-1, and even Leonard and Sheldon’s apartment from the Big Bang Theory. Oh, and you can’t forget the Wall-E set and the Doctor Who set as well. Well now, the LEGO Ideas program very likely has their next hit on their hands should the design be approved. Johnny Five from the classic 80’s flick, Short Circuit has received the 10,000 votes needed for it to officially be put on the radar of the LEGO Ideas review committee. In case you need to be reminded of just how awesome Johnny Five is, don’t worry, we’ve got your back.
PepaQuin is responsible for submitting this killer recreation to the LEGO Ideas program. The model stands at around seven inches tall and sports an incredible amount of detail for what really breaks down to a fairly simple set overall. Made from a mere 300 pieces it has working treads and incredibly detailed eyes to boot. A perfect imagining of our favorite 80’s robot come to life.
With Johnny Five moving on to the next round of competition he’ll face the likes of Star Wars favorite BB-8, which is an actual rolling version of the little droid. Stiff competition for an old bot like Johnny. We can only hope that nostalgia gets the better of the deciding committee so we can see Johnny Five alive!
