“Vastly Updated” New Through the Woods Demo to be Shown at PAX Prime

Indie studio Antagonist is inviting fans to try out their debut game, Through the Woods, at the Indie MEGABOOTH at PAX Prime 2015.

Through the Woods is a third-person psychological horror game set in a forest on the western shore of Norway about a mother and her missing son. Through dynamic narration, you play the mother’s re-telling of the events surrounding her son’s disappearance in a setting heavily influenced by Norse mythology and Norwegian folk tales.

After a strong showing at GDC San Francisco and a successful Kickstarter, Antagonist have been putting all their efforts into content creation, and have recently made vast upgrades to the official demo of Through the Woods.

With a huge graphical overhaul using new assets, fully custom textures, ambient occlusion and SpeedTree, plus brand new music and ambience, Antagonist is promising that this demo of Through the Woods at PAX Prime 2015 will be very impressive.

Among the Key Features:

  • Dynamic narration tells the story in the present, putting the player’s actions into past tense
  • Environments and story inspired by Norwegian art and nature and Norse mythology
  • Discovery of lore through exploration
  • Heavy focus on sound design as part of the core mechanic
  • Creative use of light and darkness, forcing your mind to play tricks on you
