Destiny: Nolan North Replaces Peter Dinklage as Voice of The Ghost

It seems a familiar voice will not be returning to Destiny when The Taken King arrives later this year: Peter Dinklage has apparently been ditched as the voice-actor for the very important character of The Ghost, in favor of familiar videogame actor Nolan North.

Speaking with Game Informer, North, who is well-known for work in the Uncharted and Assassinโ€™s Creed series, said that he was looking forward to taking over the role. โ€œI was really excited to do this role,โ€ Nolan North said. โ€œYou want to give him as much personality as the world will allow, without making it unbelievable. Thereโ€™s a fine line to walk there, and I think we found it.โ€

To make for a smooth sense of continuity, Bungie apparently had North re-record all of the original dialogue to create a consistent storytelling experience from beginning to end.  โ€œWe wanted Nolan Northโ€™s version of the Ghost to wake you up at the start of the journey at level one and follow you all the way to level forty,โ€ said creative director Luke Smith. With this change, the Ghostโ€™s script will remain the same, but Peter Dinklageโ€™s voicing of those lines will not be present in the game.

Destiny: The Taken King is an expansion of the original Destiny game, and is due to release September 15th, 2105.
