Oculus VR announced today that their pre E3 press conference, set to take place June 11 at 10AM PST in San Francisco, will also be live streamed to their website and Twitch. Oculus PR emails received by COG specifically call the event an E3 press conference, so expect a good deal of gaming related focus. This news should come as a relief to VR gaming fans, who have expressed concern over the future of gaming on Oculus after its sale to Facebook.
The announcement also includes a freshened website and visual branding for the long awaited Oculus Rift.
With E3 rapidly approaching, and buzz about Sony’s Morpheus and Valve’s Vive VR systems ramping up, we are eager to see what Oculus has up its sleeve. It seems to us that some good old fashioned competition brings out the best in products, and a 3 way race for VR dominance seems much more likely with this announcement – stay tuned to COG for information and analysis of all things VR in the coming weeks.
