Today, Hasbro and Ubisoft announced that the console version of RISK, based on the famous wartime strategy board game, is now available to players worldwide. The RISK console game can be downloaded on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
The RISK console game provides a modern twist for players as they embark on their mission to conquer the world. The console version of RISK retains the authenticity of the classic 2010 rules, while pushing the world-famous strategy game to new limits with 3D tactical battlefields, configurable win conditions and RISK Legacy rule variants. The console game allows up to four players to bring out their inner commander from a high-tech control room and set off to dominate the world using the classic map layout. As a reward for winning battles, players will earn thrilling videos of global combat – from epic tank battles to air combat – set in unique 3D environments.
For the first time in RISK, players will have access to Iris, an artificial intelligence whose mission is to give tactical guidance by providing tutorials and feedback about what is currently happening in the world. Players can also play modern strategy warfare online and compete in one of four different leagues.
The console version of RISK is part of the collaboration between Hasbro and Ubisoft for the Hasbro Game Channel. A premiere destination for strategy game entertainment, Hasbro Game Channel provides access to classic and reinvented versions of your favorite Hasbro board games on next-gen consoles. The channel also provides a social layer to each game by leveraging the consoles’ connected capabilities and motion cameras to enrich the in-game experience.
The RISK console game is available to download from the Hasbro Game Channel on Xbox One via the Xbox Live online entertainment network from Microsoft and PlayStation®4 system for $14.99, with Xbox 360 and PlayStation®3 system versions available in early 2015.
