Gears of War 4 Devs and StoryLab Unite to Make a New IP

What Could the New Game Be?

It’s always exciting when an established game developer begins work on a new intellectual property. Officially, both The Coalition and StoryLab Productions are working on a brand-new game for Microsoft. This one is not related to Gears of War 4, it seems.

As revealed on their website, Microsoft-owned company Storylab is now working on a new project with The Coalition. You’ll remember the latter for their work on Gears of War 4 and Gears of War 4: Ultimate Edition. But The Coalition had assistance in certain areas of production, Storylab wrote:  “As an official vendor to Microsoft’s ‘The Coalition’, StoryLab has supplied a wide range of services to this gaming giant including; Motion Capture Services, Casting Services, Stunts and Performers, Production Crew, Payroll Services, Production Consultation, etc.”

Considering the success of Gears of War 4, it stands to reason that these two companies would collaborate on yet another project. Furthermore, the team-up of skilled studios must imply a triple-A production. Unfortunately, there are no further details at the time of this writing. Storylab’s website confirms nothing beyond the fact that there’s a new project.

Before today, rumors indicated that Microsoft was on the path to bringing back an old property. Thus, speculation pointed to The Coalition working on a new Perfect Dark or Fable. Since we now know they’re working on something entirely different, fans will have to hold out hope that Microsoft is working on multiple first-party titles at once. Feel free to comment your speculation down below.

Happy gaming.
