Upcoming Lost Sphear Demo for Japan Lets You Carry Over Save Data

Lost Sphear Demo for PlayStation 4 and Switch Due Next Week

As announced over at Tokyo Game Show 2017, Square Enix will be releasing a demo in Japan for Lost Sphear. The demo will cover some of the game’s beginning, and most importantly, you can bring the save data from the demo onto to full game when it arrives. They said the demo will arrive next week for PS4 and Switch with an exact release date announcement in the next few days.

While there’s no mention yet of a Western release for the demo, but you can easily make a PSN or Switch account for the Japan region to access the demo if you’re curious about the game’s mechanics. That said, one hopes we’ll get a Western demo closer to the release date next year. In the new gameplay footage shown at TGS 2017, Lost Sphear will let you fly an airship in an old-school JRPG style. If you weren’t sold by the studio’s previous game, I Am Setsuna, this might just do the trick. Either way, it’s a great time to be a JRPG fan as we’re still a behemoth’s worth of big-name JRPGs in the next few months.

Lost Sphear is scheduled for PS4 and Switch release on October 12 in Japan, and for PS4, Switch, and PC on January 23 in the West.
