In an interview with Kinda Funny Games, head of Xbox Games Marketing, Aaron Greenberg, mentioned that Rare’s Sea of Thieves would be releasing in the same window as Creative Assembly’s Halo Wars 2, due out in February next year. Check out the timestamped video of the mention below:

Speaking to Kinda Funny, Greenberg was asked about the exact nature of Dead Rising 4’s exclusivity before going on to lay out Xbox One’s schedule post-Gears 4 saying:

“Not far after that we get things like Halo Wars 2 in February and then we just keep kind of cranking as we go through. Sea of Thieves is coming out in that window, Scalebound, a lot more titles. This is our biggest games lineup we’ve ever had over the next year. As a first-party we will publish and release more games and more exclusives than we ever have.”

It’s notable to point out Greenberg’s mention of Platinum Games’ Scalebound after Sea of Thieves. Xbox’s first half of 2017 seems a bit front-loaded, with the Windows maker not having a PSX type show before the new year to announce how their second half of 2017 looks like in terms of game release. State of Decay 2 and Phantom Dust seem to be the only notable exclusives not mentioned to be launching in the early 2017 window.
