Having gone through my fair share of iPhones over the years because of my inability to properly take care of them, I have since come to terms with the fact that I need a good solid case for my iPhone. Sure I have gone through cheap rubber cases and other dollar store quality cases which managed to do the job. Yet none of them looked aesthetically pleasing and more often than not I am replacing them in less than a few short months. It just seems I can never settle down with that one case that not only protects my phone but looks bad-ass as well. Well I think my search for that case has finally come to a close.Â
I recently had a chance to sample the Vapor Pro “Black Ops” Limited Edition iPhone 4 case which is unquestionably the best case I have tinkered with to date. It is a black rugged little iPhone 4 case that is lightweight and versatile. It fits not only the iPhone 4 but also the iPhone 4S. So any of you who have been lucky enough to snag the recently released iPhone 4S, you can pick up this case with confidence. It is made from a solid block of aircraft grade aluminum making it the most unique case I have ever had a chance to handle. You would think with an aluminum case it would make your iPhone unbearably heavy but this is not the case at all. It is light and fits perfectly on your phone.    Â
The Vapor Pro “Black Ops” case has a plush black Ultrasuede backing and ear pad which sticks onto your phone. It makes for a nice carpet-like feel on the back of your iPhone and the graphic logo on the backing is not an eye sore either. The case also accepts larger aftermarket power and headphone cables which is a nice little feature for those who own expensive noise cancelling headphones. The aerospace yellow polymer RF insert (see in the picture) prevents “death grip” signal loss. I have played around with the case for the past week and not once did I get a dropped call. While the yellow polymer sticks out and seems out of place, it manages to do its job and that is prevent those pesky dropped calls. I should also mention the case includes the Vapor Transit Kit and has a “Mil Spec” non-glare satin finish with hard electrolytic coating to resist abrasion. The case also comes with a mini screw driver that is used to assemble and mount your case.
All in all, the Vapor Pro “Black Ops” case is one sweet case and overall I am very happy with it. That being said, it is an expensive sucker and that is truly my only significant concern with this case. The Vapor Pro “Black Ops” case will cost you around $150 bucks which far exceeds the price many, including myself, are willing to pay for an iPhone case. I paid $159.99 (with a 3-year contract) for my phone so I am naturally a little hesitant to pay nearly the same amount for a case. Nevertheless, the Vapor Pro “Black Ops” case offers up a level of protection that is difficult to match. There is no doubt this is a high end case for those looking for only the best to protect their iPhone 4’s. You can drop you iPhone in this case and not even break a sweat. It will protect your phone and do so looking damn good. So for those that are willing to pay top dollar for a fantastic iPhone case, then Vapor Pro “Black Ops” case might be the one for you.   Â
