3 Things That Work (and Need Work) in ‘Murderous Pursuits’

The “Could be Better”

1. Abilities

Before each match begins, you choose a loadout of two abilities that you will give you various advantages during the game such as revealing any potential hunters in your vicinity or dancing over the corpse of your kill to get a few extra cheeky points. At its core, this system is good, but my issue is simply with the number of abilities in the game. There are only a handful of abilities to choose from, and some are clearly better than others. If the developers add in new abilities down the road it could help pave the path for new styles of play and give the game a bit more longevity.

2. Game Modes

Though Murderous Pursuits will have the standard set of modes for a multiplayer game that will let you play with random people across the country or just have a casual match with bots or friends, I’d really like to see some fun modes that alter up the gameplay itself. For instance, a mode with double the number of players or one with special items could provide a different, more whacky way to experience the game. After all, more variety almost always means more entertainment.

3. Settings Customization

Okay, this might be an obvious one but one thing I noticed while playing Murderous Pursuits was a lack of customization options for how you play the game. This could be because I was playing a non-release version, but I didn’t even have an option to adjust my mouse sensitivity in game. It’s not a huge deal but having the ability to tweak how you control the game or how it feels can go a long way in making the overall experience more enjoyable as a whole.
