10 Third-Party E3 2018 Surprises That Could Steal the Show

NieR 3

It’s probably too early to get anything of substance, but the mere announcement that Yoko Taro and Square Enix are once again collaborating would be a huge deal in of itself. 3D Rayman

Ubisoft proved with Rayman Origins and Legends that they can make a fantastic 2D platformer. Another game in that vein would be a delight, but I’d like to see the company tackle a different challenge. The limbless wonder’s last 3D major adventure was way back in 2003, and I’d love to see Ubisoft give it another go. There’s not many 3D platformers, so this could fill a major void in the market and be a surprise hit for the publisher.

Crystal Dynamics’ Avengers Game

Despite being announced, nothing is really known about Crystal Dynamics’ upcoming Avengers game. It’s clearly a huge project for Square Enix, and it has the chance to be the game that everyone is talking about after E3. Marvel’s popularity has never been higher, and this is the right time to strike big with a high-quality comic book game.
