Razer today announced the first public screening of the upcoming eSports documentary series, “Team Razer: Great Games,” at DreamHack Winter in Jönköping, Sweden. The trilogy follows members of Team Razer, an elite group of eSports professionals, and focuses on three of today’s most popular eSports titles: StarCraft II, Dota 2 and League of Legends.
The three half-hour episodes were directed by Travis “Samox” Beauchamp, director of the critically acclaimed documentary “The Smash Brothers.” The first installment takes the viewer back to the very beginnings of contemporary eSports, focusing on the formative moments of StarCraft: Brood War, with scene-heroes such as Jaedong and Flash, then turning to StarCraft II and the promising first footsteps of future star, HerO. The following episodes will focus on the world of Massive Online Battle Arena games, providing insight into the meteoric rise of MOBA titles Dota 2 and League of Legends.
The documentary features legends from teams such as Team Liquid and Evil Geniuses, providing exclusive insight with interviews and background about an industry that started as a hobby and became one of the most lucrative preoccupations on the planet. All three chapters will be released in sequence on YouTube after the first public screening at DreamHack Winter, Nov. 29.
