Though the Vita game launched on May 6 as part of a $199 Vita slim bundle, the PS3 version of the game required a patch to add in Cross-Save support.
That means PS3 players who may have held off on jumping in to the Vita version can now move their characters back and forth at will.
Borderlands 2 Vita is a collaboration between 2K Games, PlayStation and Iron Galaxy Studios, the maker of indie fighting game Divekick. It supports two player co-op online play and lets players use the Vita’s front touchscreen and rear touchpad to zoom and pan on maps, manage their inventory and inspect items.
The portable version includes six of the game’s DLC packs: Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty, Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage, Psycho Character Class, Mechromancer Character Class, Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 1 and the Collector’s Edition Pack.
