A Huge Win for Midwest 90: Rapid City
Running a diner is tough enough without monsters roaming the streets and turning your customers into the least of your problems. That’s the bizarre premise behind Midwest 90: Rapid City, the upcoming indie game from Hidden Chest Studios, which Unity has selected for its Indie Showcase at G-STAR 2026 in Busan, South Korea. Published by Rising Tide, the game launches in Steam Early Access on November 10, 2026.

Set in Rapid City, South Dakota, in 2034, the game takes place after the New Great Depression devastates the town. Players must keep their roadside diner running by turning dangerous monsters into an unusual supply source.
Midwest 90: Rapid City will feature Endless Mode from day one, alongside the Prologue and Chapter 1. Players can experiment with monster recipes, prepare daily specials, and discover dishes with unique traits and unpredictable side effects. They can also hire crew members, set bear traps, build barricades, and keep a shotgun ready for emergencies.
Attendees at G-STAR 2026 can try the game at a dedicated diner setup inside the Unity Zone at BEXCO Exhibition Center 2. The showcase runs November 19 to 22, 10 AM to 6 PM. Press members and content creators can also book appointments with the development team.
The developers have outlined plans for the months following Early Access. A surprise drop is scheduled for December 31, followed by a free Chapter 2 update on January 28. The full release is planned for March 2027 and will be free for everyone who joins Early Access.
With its unusual blend of diner management, monster hunting, and survival, Midwest 90: Rapid City could serve up something genuinely different when it arrives on Steam next month.
