Enter a Gothic Castle in Vampire Hunter: Nightrise
Over the Moon Games is thrilled to announce the launch of Vampire Hunter: Nightrise on Steam today. Developed by the studio behind The Fall and The Last Hero of Nostalgaia, the first-person adventure launches at $14.99, with a 10% discount available during its first week. Players can also try the free demo before purchasing.

Described as “Castlevania meets Tunic,” Vampire Hunter: Nightrise challenges players to hunt down a powerful vampire before nightfall. Instead of relying on traditional keys or progression systems, the game encourages players to learn how the castle itself works. Hidden passages, rotating fireplaces, moving bookshelves, and mysterious portraits are all accessible from the beginning, but only those who understand the castle’s secrets will be able to uncover them.
Combat centers around a unique stake launcher that lets players pin enemies to walls, ignite them by firing through flames, and even use the castle’s furniture as improvised weapons. Alongside the action, the game introduces a faith system that acts as a valuable resource. Players can trade it for power, but those choices influence how the story ultimately unfolds.
Designed as a focused experience lasting around three hours, Vampire Hunter: Nightrise emphasizes exploration, atmosphere, and suspense over lengthy open-world gameplay or excessive gore.
“In Nightrise, almost everything is open to you from the very beginning, if you know how to reach it,” said John Warner of Over the Moon Games. “There is something deeply rewarding about learning to overcome an obstacle instead of just finding a key. It creates a real sense of power and wonder. We took huge inspiration from Tunic in that respect, and from Outer Wilds.”
With its blend of puzzle-driven exploration, clever combat, and gothic atmosphere, Vampire Hunter: Nightrise offers an intriguing adventure for players looking for a short but memorable vampire-hunting experience.
