KAZ Launches on Steam With Fast-Paced Score Attack Roguelike Action

Aim for the Highest Score in KAZ

KAZ, the fast-paced minimalist score attack roguelike from publisher HAKURO and indie developer Kalinarm, has officially launched on Steam, bringing its stylish blend of lightning-fast gameplay, psychedelic visuals, and pulse-pounding music to PC players.

Designed around quick reflexes and satisfying combo chains, KAZ encourages players to enter a flow state where every move counts. Success depends on making split-second decisions, balancing powerful buffs with risky maluses, and choosing the right items and spells to keep each run alive. For players who prefer a more thoughtful approach, the game also includes a No Stress mode that replaces frantic reactions with limited-move tactical gameplay.

The full release offers plenty of content to keep players busy, featuring more than 145 quests spread across five different game modes. Players can experiment with over 110 items while managing a unique curse system that forces them to choose from more than 35 different maluses. While some curses may unlock hidden abilities, others can quickly bring a promising run to an end. The developers have also confirmed that weekly and monthly challenges will arrive after launch, giving players fresh objectives and new leaderboard competitions.

Customization also plays a major role in the game. Players can choose from over 25 themes, each offering its own visual style and gameplay bonuses. These themes have been created by both community members and established artists, adding new strategies and replay value.

Complementing the action is an interactive soundtrack that evolves as players achieve higher scores, creating an increasingly intense experience that matches the game’s frantic pace.

With its addictive “one more run” gameplay loop and generous amount of content, KAZ looks like a promising pick for roguelike fans looking for a fresh score-chasing challenge on PC.
