A Huge Win for Aether & Iron
Seismic Squirrel has another reason to celebrate as its decopunk noir RPG, Aether & Iron, has won the Best Role-Playing Game at the TooManyGames Indie Game Showcase Awards 2026. The award highlights the game’s growing success among this year’s standout indie releases.

The recognition came during the TooManyGames awards ceremony held on June 26, 2026, where Aether & Iron stood out from a curated lineup of 150 juried independent games. Taking home the top prize in the Role-Playing Game category is a significant milestone for the studio and further reinforces the game’s positive reception since launch.
“We’re proud to see Aether & Iron named Best Role-Playing Game at the TooManyGames Indie Game Showcase Awards. It’s a recognition of the work our team has put into building this world, and of the players who have experienced it.” said Tyler Whitney, Narrative Director at Seismic Squirrel. “And, of course, a huge thank you to everyone who has played it.”
The developers are continuing to support the game with post-launch updates. One of the latest additions is the Roadside Garage feature, while even more content is currently in development as the team aims to expand the experience for players.
Aether & Iron is available now on Windows and macOS, featuring full English voice acting along with text localization in English, Spanish (Spain and Latin America), French, German, Polish, Russian, Brazilian Portuguese, and Simplified Chinese. Players can also try the game’s demo before purchasing.
With a major award now under its belt and more updates on the horizon, Aether & Iron looks set to remain one of the indie RPGs worth keeping an eye on.
