All Aboard the Trackastrophe!
Publisher Black Smoke Studios and Belgium-based developer Kinoko Studio have officially confirmed that their wholesome train puzzler Trackastrophe! will launch on Steam on May 28. Ahead of its release, players eager to jump in early can already check out a playable demo available now.
In Trackastrophe!, players are tasked with building railway tracks across charming isometric levels, guiding a quirky little train safely to its destination. The journey is far from simple, as each stage introduces unpredictable obstacles ranging from tunnels and ravines to slippery ice paths and even interdimensional portals. The goal remains straightforward but engaging: keep the train on track and reach the endpoint in one piece.
The game features more than 100 handcrafted levels across vibrant, retro-cartoon-inspired worlds. Each biome brings its own mechanics and visual identity, gradually increasing the challenge while keeping the experience fresh. Players must carefully analyze each puzzle, strategically place track pieces, and then activate the train to see their plan unfold.
Customization also plays a fun role, allowing players to personalize their engine with a variety of colors and hats. For those moments when a puzzle feels too tricky, a built-in hint system offers subtle guidance without taking away the satisfaction of solving it.
With its creative level design and lighthearted presentation, Trackastrophe! is shaping up to be a charming addition to the puzzle genre. The game arrives on May 28, bringing a mix of strategy and playful chaos to Steam.
