Crabmeat Spreads Its Fishing Horror on Steam

Clear Your Debt in Crabmeat

Indie developer Searching Interactive has officially launched its Antarctic fishing horror game Crabmeat for PC. The short first-person survival horror experience is now available on Steam, priced at $7.99 USD, £6.69 GBP, €7.79 EUR, and $11.79 AUD. To celebrate the release, players can also grab the game with a 10% launch discount for the first two weeks.

Alongside the launch, the developers released a new trailer that highlights the cold and unsettling journey players will face in the frozen southern seas. You can check it out right below.

In Crabmeat, players take on the role of a prisoner indebted to the Feudostate, a regime that forces them into dangerous labor to repay their debt. Their task is to sail into Antarctic waters and collect valuable Southern King Crabs. The mission comes with a strict deadline. Players must gather the required quota within seven days or risk permanent exile for themselves and their family.

The game delivers a focused two-to-three-hour experience that blends first-person exploration with point-and-click mechanics. Players operate a government-issued crabbing vessel alone, handling every step of the process. This includes baiting traps, lowering them into the icy waters, hauling them back up, and sorting through the catch.

Maintaining the vessel is equally important, as mysterious threats lurk beneath the freezing waves. Players must keep the ship operational while defending themselves against the dangers of the sea.

Crabmeat is designed to be fully playable using only a mouse, offering a simple but immersive control system.

The game is now available for purchase on Steam for PC.
