Check Out the Co-op Action of Painkiller
3D Realms and Anshar Studios have unveiled a new gameplay trailer for Painkiller, the reimagined action shooter set to launch on October 21, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. The reveal took place during the Horror Game Awards Halloween Showcase, giving players a chilling look at the brutal battles that await. Narrated by one of the very demons lurking in Purgatory, the trailer sets the stage for fast-paced co-op chaos where survival depends on teamwork.
Painkiller brings back the franchise’s trademark intensity, inviting players to blast through relentless waves of monstrous enemies with an arsenal of infernal weapons. The game’s gothic settings serve as the battleground for a desperate fight against Azazel, a fallen angel determined to unleash destruction upon Earth. Players can choose to face this nightmare alone or join forces in online co-op for up to three players, where every fight for survival becomes a test of coordination and firepower.
Both Standard and Deluxe Editions are available to pre-order now. The Standard Edition will be released digitally and physically for PlayStation and Xbox, while the Deluxe Edition will be available on all platforms, offering additional content. The Deluxe package includes the Season Pass, granting access to the Night Watch DLC with four character skins and six weapon skins at launch, alongside more post-release customization options.
Pre-orders come with the exclusive Iron Crusade skin pack, giving players a head start on personalization. Those who secure a physical edition will also receive the Burnished Pride weapons pack, adding a collection of striking gold weapon skins to their arsenal.
When Painkiller arrives this October, it promises unrelenting action, gothic horror, and a chance to conquer demons with friends.
