Slots & Daggers Will Launch Later This Year
Indie developer Friedemann and publisher Future Friends Games have released the Steam demo of their upcoming slot machine roguelike crawler, Slots & Daggers. The game will launch on PC later this year and promises a chunky, tactile, and highly addictive experience that merges strategic combat with the thrill of chance.
The demo offers a glimpse into the main game, featuring two of the ten playable zones. It also features a limited selection of weapons, abilities, upgrades, and modifiers. Players will experience the unique combat system that defines the game. The battles unfold on a slot machine, with attacks, potions, and spells represented by spinning symbols. Success in combat relies on a mix of keen observation, quick reflexes, and luck as players face an eclectic range of enemies. This includes the Gunslingers of the Red Desert, Knights of Kul, Hammer Goblins, and a peculiar adversary named Ike.
Developed by the creator of Summerhouse, the game embraces a retro-fantasy roguelike aesthetic. Here, every spin can alter the course of an adventure. Victory rewards players with powerful modifiers, from additional slot wheels to new weapons and spells. This allows players to customize their approach and refine their strategy. As players progress, the challenge lies in carefully balancing risk and reward, turning the whims of chance into tactical advantage.
With its blend of strategy, randomness, and engaging retro-inspired design, Slots & Daggers invites players to arm themselves, spin the reels, and navigate perilous lands where every decision counts. The demo offers a tantalizing preview of the roguelike adventure that will test skill, patience, and luck in equal measure.
