Make Sure You Don’t Scream
Digital Cybercherries has officially launched the full 1.0 version of its found footage-inspired horror title, DON’T SCREAM on Steam. It’s bringing along tons of improvements for all the esteemed players. The game came out in Early Access in October 2023 and it took off like a rocket. In just a week, it sold over 100,000 copies, thanks to its wild popularity as a streaming favorite.
“The time DON’T SCREAM has spent in Early Access has really helped us define what makes this game tick and that’s all been channeled into a host of massive improvements that we are unleashing today with the 1.0 release,” said Joe Henson, Creative Gameplay and Marketing Director at Digital Cybercherries. “Thanks to everyone for your support and feedback in helping us make the best version of the game yet.”
DON’T SCREAM is a short, intense horror game built with Unreal Engine 5, drawing inspiration from the eerie style of 90s camcorder footage. It works like a scare simulator, focused entirely on making players jump. There’s no storyline, just a single challenge: explore the mysterious Pineview Forest for 18 minutes without making a sound. If you scream, the game resets to the beginning.
But here’s the twist: time moves only when you move, and the scares are completely unpredictable. To make things even trickier, the game uses your microphone, and it is mandatory. Every little noise you make, whether it is a gasp, squeak, or tiny jump, counts as a full-blown scream, making the challenge even tougher.
