XD, the global video games developer and publisher has officially launched its latest title Sword of Convallaria on PC and mobile devices today. It is a free-to-play fantasy Tactical RPG that offers over 120 hours of branching narrative. Players will embark on an epic quest to save Iria by assembling and training mercenaries.
Additionally, it features music by Hitoshi Sakimoto, known for Final Fantasy Tactics and Valkyria Chronicles, making it even more appealing and immersive.
With modern graphics and classic TRPG elements, Sword of Convallaria delivers political intrigue and isometric combat. Players had a preview during the Steam Next Fest and a successful Closed Beta Test in June with over 10,000 applicants. Not to forget, one dedicated player spent an impressive 170 hours in-game during this test.
The game offers two main gameplay experiences: Spiral of Destinies, an open-ended single-player campaign with 10 possible endings, and an online mode where players form guilds and complete weekly quests. In both modes, players navigate grid-based combat across varied terrains.
Each battlefield has strategic features like cliffs, fire pits, and bodies of water that you can use to your advantage. You can lure enemies into hazards like rolling boulders or even knock strong foes off the map while facing various enemy types during your quest.
