Resident Evil Crosses Over With The Division 2 in Anniversary Event

This Isn’t in RPD’s Jurisdiction

The gaming news for the past week has largely been about Resident Evil Village and the Resident Evil Showcase that revealed and announced a lot about it, so some games are feeling a little left out of the spotlight. Ubisoft must have thought, “if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em.” Reaching across the developer-gap, Ubisoft and Capcom are teaming up to make some Resident Evil cosmetics for The Division 2 for the Resident Evil 25th Anniversary. It won’t be a massive T-virus outbreak in Washington, DC, but a little something for RE fans playing the game.

The “apparel event” is just that. Taking place between February 2nd and 15th, if players simply log in, they will be gifted the RPD uniform that Leon Kennedy wears in Resident Evil 2. In the event trailer, we see characters wearing the RPD uniform, as well as the STARS uniform with the beret that Jill Valentine wore in Resident Evil. The short clip also shows what appear to be UBCS gear, like what Carlos Oliveira wore in Resident Evil 3. Lastly, we also see a character in the Umbrella Security Service tactical gear, which was most notably worn by Hunk.

The even also says that players can pick up weapon skins and other items inspired by Resident Evil, but beyond the outfits, that has yet to be detailed. Some fans of The Division 2 are a little upset by this event since they have been waiting for new content for the game. A content event titled Codename Nightmare was an event that Ubisoft was planning, but was cancelled, so this “apparel event” seems lackluster. The Division 2 is available now for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Stadia.
