No Microtransactions or Season Pass for God of War 4
With the ongoing debate and contention surroundings microtransactions, players are more wary about new releases now more than ever. Today, itโs God of War 4, and director Cory Barlog has confirmed that there will be no microtransactions in the PS4 exclusive.
2017 proved a riot of a year with the animosity against in-game purchases. In several cases, like with Star Wars Battlefront II, loot boxes and microtransactions have proven detrimental to the triple-A experience. Thus, itโs no wonder players are now asking about their inclusion beforehand. After his tweet from Germany, Cory Barlong was asked whether God of War would include microtransactions. His answer was no, itโs not happening.

As Shawn Layden said at PSX 2017, PlayStation 4 exclusive games like to focus on single-player without shoehorning in unnecessary features. Loot boxes and microtransactions are among those. With Barlogโs latest tweet, it goes to show that PlayStation is sticking to their guns. PSX is also where Barlog revealed that God of War 4โs campaign is a lot longer than he anticipated. Weโre talking 20+ hours. But you can find out on April 20, when the game releases. In related news, you can check out the Limited Edition God of War PS4 Pro that was unveiled yesterday.
Happy gaming.
