Brazilian game developer and publisher Hoplon has announced their most ambitious project to date, the upcoming high-octane vehicular combat game, Heavy Metal Machines. Slated for a mid-2017 release on Windows PC (with console to follow), Heavy Metal Machines will be playable for the first time in North America during the upcoming PAX West 2016 convention in Seattle, Washington, held this Labor Day weekend.
Heavy Metal Machines is a 4v4 multiplayer arena combat game, retiring tried-and-true fantasy heroes for unique vehicular death machines, piloted by a cast of larger-than-life post-apocalyptic road warriors that deal devastating destruction to the beat of a raucous heavy metal soundtrack. The rules for the arena are simple: two teams enter, one team leaves. The four-player team that manages to decimate the enemy’s base first wins. Forget gasoline – the Heavy Metal Machines and their insane drivers run on pure adrenaline!
Key features of Heavy Metal Machines include:
- Start Your Engines: Choose one of twelve distinct Heavy Metal Machines, each piloted by a psychotic personality with a unique and bizarre set of upgradable and customizable abilities.
- Carnage is a Team Sport: Show off your unique individual skills, customizing your vehicle and your driver’s abilities to match your style of play, while also mastering teamwork in support, interceptor or transporter roles.
- Blow it all to Hell: Work together to dominate the road – weakening the opposing team’s defenses to deliver the final devastating blow to their base – even if it means a one way trip to Hell.
- Pedal to the Metal: Each driver has a distinct personality, dictating the soundtrack that accompanies them during battle – including an eclectic mix of metal, goth metal, death metal, black metal, and industrial metal.
PAX West 2016 attendees will be among the first in North America to play Heavy Metal Machines. Attendees can compete in daily 4v4 matches – including against celebrity gamers – for prizes and bragging rights, as well as become part of the gritty world of Heavy Metal Machines using an immersive green screen! While attendee badges have officially sold out for PAX West 2016, COGconnected will be there live covering the event, so be sure to tune in!
