Show Off Your Tricks in VMX
Ready to hit the ramps without actually heading to the skatepark? VMX is now available on Meta Quest 2 and Quest 3, bringing its physics-driven BMX, mountain bike, and scooter experience to standalone VR. Developed by Break Free Interactive, the game is available now through the Meta Store for $14.99 / £11.99 / €13.99.
VMX takes a more physical approach to VR riding, putting the controls directly in players’ hands. Instead of simply pressing buttons to pull off tricks, players use real gestures to control their rides, build momentum, launch from ramps, find the right lines, and perform tricks.
The game launches with five different locations, including Under the Bridge Skatepark, Utah Desert Dirt Track, Miami City, Docks/Harbour, and a massive stadium featuring a megaramp and animated crowds. Players can freely explore these locations, practice tricks, chase high scores, or ride around with friends in multiplayer.
VMX also lets players put their own stamp on their rides through the Workshop. Bikes can be customized with colors, gradients, and patterns. Not only that, but riders can unlock different clothing and gear, including helmets, goggles, snapbacks, and beanies. Multiplayer also allows players to compete, practice tricks together, or simply hang out and explore the maps.
For those worried about motion sickness, VMX offers Comfort Mode and Immersive Mode, giving newcomers and experienced VR players different ways to experience the movement.
With BMX, MTB, and scooters all available at launch, VMX gives VR riders plenty of ways to send it. Now all that’s left is finding the perfect ramp and hoping the landing goes well.
