Too Hot to Hold Is Bringing Its Multiplayer Chaos on Steam This November

Just Remember That the Ember Is Too Hot to Hold

Things are about to get very hot, and in Too Hot To Hold, holding onto the wrong thing for too long could cost you the entire round. MystiveDev has announced that this upcoming asymmetric multiplayer party game will launch on Steam on November 3, 2026.

Too Hot To Hold

The rules of the game are simple: grab the Ember and RUN. Playing as a Trickster, you’ll have just 10 seconds to get rid of the scorching Ember before it explodes in your hands. You can pass it to another player, throw it across the room, or desperately chase down the one friend who refuses to take it. Survive with the Ember intact for five minutes, and the Tricksters win. But 10 seconds into the round, the Wardens arrive.

Armed with guns, scanners, traps, and their own abilities, Wardens aren’t trying to take down the Tricksters. Instead, they need to destroy the Ember before the clock hits zero.

Things can get even crazier thanks to player abilities. Tricksters can grapple away, throw mud, drop banana peels and tripwires, unleash smoke, and even use some hilariously bizarre attacks. Wardens can fight back with portals, rat traps, electric grenades, and deceptive illusions. The oversized hand-painted maps also feature hidden passages, shortcuts, bounce pads, cooling vents, and other randomized gadgets.

With proximity voice chat thrown into the mix, expect plenty of screaming, backstabbing, frantic throws, and probably a few friendships ending along the way.

Too Hot To Hold looks like the kind of multiplayer chaos that’s impossible to take seriously, and that’s exactly what makes it so exciting.
