Feel the Rhythm in PIERCING
Things are about to get seriously weird when PIERCING launches on Steam on November 13, 2026. Developed by solo creator Buri Games, this rhythm-action game mixes fast-paced gameplay with a surprisingly painful punishment system, and a brand-new trailer gives players a closer look at what to expect.
You play as Lin, a young tailor whose hometown has been destroyed by mysterious monsters. While escaping with her childhood friend Asha, the pair encounter a strange Sage who offers them food and water in exchange for playing a game. The catch? Lose, and Asha gets another piercing.
The main gameplay has you smashing connected panels to the beat while trying to maintain one continuous path. Once you’ve cleared the panels, you’ll need to destroy the red devil statue to finish the stage. PIERCING features 59 stages, with an endless mode becoming available after completing the main game.
But here’s where things take an unexpected turn. Every time you fail a rhythm stage, you’ll have to pierce Asha’s ear. The game lets you go through the entire piercing process before choosing from 30 different earrings to decorate her ear.
The developer has also confirmed that players can stream and monetize their gameplay, although spoilers for the story and endings should be avoided. A free demo is already available on Steam, featuring the opening section and an exclusive high-difficulty stage.
With rhythm challenges, brutal consequences, and a premise that’s definitely hard to forget, PIERCING could be one of the strangest games hitting Steam this November.
