Explore the Cozy World of Outbound
Square Glade Games and Silver Lining Interactive have released the Wildlife Update for Outbound, adding a fresh reason to jump back into the cozy open-world adventure. The free update is now available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 players will receive the update soon.
The biggest addition is a brand-new wildlife ecosystem featuring 34 unique animal species spread across Outbound’s four biomes. Players can now explore the world, spot wildlife, and document their discoveries using the new photography system. The game is also currently available at a 20% discount on Steam.
To get started, players can visit the new Wildlife Outpost in the first biome and unlock the blueprint for a craftable camera. The camera comes with several photography options, including exposure, depth of field, saturation, contrast, and zoom.
The Wildlife Journal has also received an upgrade, allowing players to track the animals they have photographed. The camera automatically detects wildlife in view, and successfully capturing a species adds it to the new collection tab.
The update also introduces enhanced binoculars, a new wooden foundation, fishing HUD improvements, and adorable animal-shaped plant pots. Kickstarter backers have even contributed new collectible charms to discover.
With another major free update now available, Outbound continues to make its peaceful world feel more alive. Whether you want to build, explore, fish, or simply photograph wildlife, there’s plenty to discover on the road ahead.
