Find Out the True Meaning of Hero in Oops! You’re the Hero!
Artificium Games has officially launched Oops! You’re the Hero! on Steam and Itch, bringing its witty fantasy adventure to players today. Ahead of its release, the game also earned a spot on Polygon’s list of the 15 most anticipated games of the fall, giving the indie title an impressive boost of attention.
Instead of casting players as a legendary savior, Oops! You’re the Hero! flips the genre on its head by putting you in the boots of a sarcastic thief who accidentally becomes the world’s reluctant hero. After stealing a forgotten artifact, the thief finds himself magically marked as the chosen one and sets out on a journey to return the very item he stole.
The adventure follows the thief and his constantly chatty companion, Tut Puff, as they travel across the mysterious land of Othaya. Along the way, players can battle dangerous monsters and uncover hidden secrets. Or they can avoid conflict altogether by discovering alternate paths through each level.
Othaya itself is a world that has largely left magic and monsters behind. However, old threats begin to resurface and put ordinary people in danger. The game challenges players to decide what being a hero really means or whether they would rather dodge responsibility whenever possible.
Combat remains entirely player-driven. When you choose to fight, you’ll face powerful bosses using your sword, quick reflexes, and clever tactics to overcome increasingly difficult encounters.
For fans of story-driven indie adventures with humor and choice, Oops! You’re the Hero! looks like a charming new fantasy worth checking out.
