Almost Time to Embark On an Epic Journey in Altermage
AlterMage finally has a release date. The first-person action-platformer will launch for PC via Steam on November 17, 2026, following its playable demo that debuted on August 28.
Set in a stylish Magepunk universe, AlterMage throws players into a sprawling island fortress where magic and machinery have fused into something deadly. Centuries ago, an exiled sorcerer created forbidden spells inside the citadel before six legendary heroes brought his reign to an end. That victory has long faded into myth, and the darkness buried beneath the island is beginning to awaken once again.
Gameplay centers on fluid spellblade combat, letting players chain together sword strikes, elemental spells, dodges, and blocks without breaking the action. The massive interconnected world is filled with branching paths, hidden chambers, environmental puzzles, and dangerous labyrinths that reward exploration with powerful artifacts and new traversal abilities.
The standout feature is AlterMage’s ambitious spell alteration system, which lets players fuse magical effects into more than one million possible spell combinations. Every action also contributes to character growth, meaning your movement, combat style, and preferred elements naturally shape your build over time. Players can also upgrade weapons, Catalysts, and gear to create highly personalized loadouts.
With fast-paced combat, deep customization, and an atmospheric world packed with secrets, AlterMage looks poised to deliver a fresh take on the action-platformer genre. The wait won’t be much longer when it arrives on Steam this November 17.
