Try the Murder Meet Cute Demo Right Now
We got thrilling news for all the investigators out there! Murder Meet Cute is giving players their first chance to dive into its eerie, nostalgic world with a brand-new demo, now available on Steam as part of the Nonbinary Coded Games flagship festival.
The upcoming interactive fiction title has been building momentum since its reveal during InterfaceX26 in May and its appearance at the Horror Game Awards Midsummer Nights Scream showcase in June. Now, players can finally experience its unique blend of mystery and humor firsthand.
The demo introduces Amy, a computer repair shop employee navigating life in a small town filled with strange mysteries. Players will get to chat with her friend Jen through an ICQ-inspired messaging system. As well as interact with customers and search through their computers for hidden clues. It offers a taste of the game’s witty humor, clever puns, and unmistakable 90s-inspired atmosphere.
Murder Meet Cute has already made its third festival appearance and was recently highlighted by GameSpot as one of the standout games from the Horror Game Awards showcase. Fans can also try the game at Brilliant Indie Treasures during Develop: Brighton on July 15 and at Otakuthon in Montreal from August 7 to 9.
The game also features “Crypto-Nonographic” puzzle mechanics, where picross-style challenges transform into disturbing computer viruses that players must eliminate while investigating the unexplained deaths affecting Amy’s hometown.
With its retro aesthetic, clever writing, and intriguing mystery, Murder Meet Cute is shaping up to be an indie horror adventure worth watching.
