Holdfast: Nations at War Launches Major American Revolution Expansion Update on July 4

New Frontiers Are Coming to Holdfast: Nations at War

Developer Anvil Game Studios is celebrating America’s 250th anniversary with a substantial new update for Holdfast: Nations at War. Launching on July 4, the update expands the game’s American Revolution experience, giving players even more ways to relive some of history’s most iconic battles in massive 150-player multiplayer matches.

One of the biggest additions is the new Offensive game mode, which introduces a tug-of-war-style battle where teamwork is essential. Players will need to launch coordinated assaults, capture objectives, and fight relentlessly as the frontline shifts across the battlefield.

The update also brings four new historical maps inspired by real locations from the American Revolutionary War. Players can battle through Camden’s rugged backcountry, defend Brooklyn Heights, fight across the Patriot Farmlands, or return to Lexington, where the conflict first erupted on April 19, 1775.

To make the experience even more authentic, the team added several new regiments and uniforms, allowing players to fight as legendary factions such as the Green Mountain Boys and Washington’s Grenadiers. They also expanded the arsenal beyond standard military equipment, with improvised weapons like pitchforks and wooden sticks offering desperate options in close combat.

The American Revolution expansion is available at no additional cost for all owners of Holdfast: Nations at War on Steam, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.

With new battlefields, fresh gameplay, and historical authenticity, this update gives both longtime fans and newcomers another great reason to step onto the battlefield this Independence Day.
