Led by industry veteran Nathan Fouts, known for his work on titles like Serious Sam Double D XXL, the studio delivers a fast-paced experience built around a unique, multi-functional weapon. In ChainStaff, players take control of a mutant fused with an alien parasite, armed with a transforming spear that also functions as a grappling hook. The gameplay revolves around mastering this versatile tool, allowing players to attack, defend, and traverse environments.

Combat pairs with a heavy metal soundtrack composed by Deon van Heerden. It perfectly sets the tone for intense battles against grotesque enemies and massive bosses. The invading Star Spores twist each enemy, requiring players to use different strategies to defeat them. Beyond combat, the game introduces a dark choice system involving stranded soldiers scattered throughout the world. Players can either rescue them or consume them for upgrades, with each decision impacting gameplay and leading to different endings.

With its distinct visual style, fluid mechanics, and emphasis on player creativity, ChainStaff arrives as a bold new entry in the indie action platformer space.
