A Huge Win for Resident Evil Requiem
Capcom has revealed that Resident Evil Requiem has reached another major sales milestone, surpassing six million copies sold worldwide. The publisher confirmed that the latest entry in the long-running survival horror series achieved this figure faster than any previous title in the franchise.
Requiem launched on 27 February 2026 and quickly attracted a massive audience. Within its first week on the market, the game had already crossed the five million sales mark. In the two weeks that followed, it added another one million copies, bringing the total to over six million units globally. Although the initial surge has slowed slightly, the title continues to perform strongly as more players pick it up.
With this achievement, Requiem now stands as the eighth best-selling game in the Resident Evil series. It currently sits between Resident Evil 5, which has sold around ten million copies, and Resident Evil, which reached approximately 5.10 million units.

Game director Koshi Nakanishi has also confirmed that a story expansion for Requiem is already in development. Details about the additional content remain unknown for now. Alongside the expansion, Capcom plans to introduce a photo mode in a future update and release a new minigame sometime in May.
Capcom’s release schedule remains busy. The company will launch Pragmata on 17 April for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo’s upcoming Switch 2 system. A free demo is already available for players interested in trying the game ahead of its release.
Meanwhile, fans continuing their journey through Requiem can also look forward to themed amiibo figures based on the game’s characters. These collectibles will unlock cosmetic weapon skins when used in-game.
