The Pirate City of Orbtopia Awaits in the Sea of Remnants
NetEase Games has unveiled a brand-new trailer for Sea of Remnants, an ocean-fantasy open-world RPG developed by Joker Studio, scheduled to launch in 2026 on PlayStation 5, Steam, and PC (Windows).
Sea of Remnants places players in the role of a puppetfolk sailor who awakens adrift at sea with no memory of their past. From there, the journey unfolds across treacherous waters filled with bizarre monsters, rival factions, and mysterious islands. Players will command and customize their fleet, forge relationships with more than 400 companions. All while influencing the future of Orbtopia, a sprawling pirate city that evolves based on player decisions.
The new trailer highlights the dangers of pirate life and introduces one of the game’s central characters, the eccentric adventurer known as R.S., a Damage Over Time specialist. R.S. excels at overwhelming enemies using her signature “Surprise Pony” bomb, which delivers wide-ranging devastation. As the story progresses, players will sail alongside her in search of legendary treasures hidden across the seas.
The trailer launch coincides with the start of the Wanderer Test, a limited closed alpha running from today until February 12, giving a select group of players an early taste of the adventure.
Sea of Remnants emphasizes exploration and freedom. Players can sail seamlessly across open waters, uncover distant islands, and return valuable discoveries to Orbtopia. Along the way, they will recruit powerful allies from rival factions, battle fearsome sea monsters such as giant bats, cannon-wielding gorillas, and colossal treasure-hoarding crabs, and wander lively island settlements filled with unexpected encounters. From casual diversions to dangerous duels, every voyage promises something new, ensuring pirates always return for another adventure.
