The Dungeons Awaits in Dark Quest: Remastered
Brain Seal has released Dark Quest: Remastered, a fully rebuilt and enhanced edition of the game that launched the Dark Quest series. The game is available now on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. This also marks the first time the original Dark Quest has arrived on consoles.
This new version is rebuilt from the ground up using the latest engine from Dark Quest 4. It modernises the classic experience while preserving its dark fantasy identity. The new technical foundation delivers sharper visuals, smoother performance, refined gameplay systems, and a more immersive presentation. This brings the original adventure in line with modern expectations.
In a move that rewards long-time fans, existing owners of Dark Quest on Steam will receive the remastered version as a completely free update. This will allow players to experience the definitive version of the game at no additional cost.

The story follows the rise of a dark sorcerer who has constructed a dungeon beneath the village of Darkwood. From this underground lair, his minions ravage the surrounding lands, spreading fear and destruction. Players must assemble and lead a party of heroes into the depths and battle deadly foes on a tactical grid. The goal is to put an end to the growing evil threatening the realm.
Dark Quest: Remastered draws inspiration from classic board games and old-school role-playing games. It focuses on strategic, turn-based combat driven by meaningful choices, careful party management, and a tabletop-inspired fantasy atmosphere.
The remastered edition introduces a new 3D perspective engine, enhanced lighting and visual effects, refined balance, new spells and items, improved audio design, and extensive gameplay polish. With full controller support, Steam Deck compatibility, and broad language localisation, Dark Quest: Remastered offers a comfortable and accessible experience across desktop, handheld, and console platforms.
