Use Your Momentum in Arcabbit
DuctHive has launched Arcabbit, a swing-focused 2D grappling platformer, on Steam today. To mark the release, the game is available at a 30% discount until February 18, 2026, bringing the price down to $6.29 from its regular $8.99.
Arcabbit challenges players to master momentum-based movement using a pair of grappling hooks. Built around pendulum swings and circular arcs, the game emphasizes precision, timing, and flow as players propel themselves through demanding obstacle courses. By connecting and flicking the hooks, players generate speed, harness centrifugal force, and launch themselves across gaps and hazards. The movement system may feel unconventional at first, but tightly placed checkpoints ensure that failures never feel punishing. Quick restarts keep the action fluid and encourage experimentation.
The game’s design centers on three key elements. First, every action stems from two simple hook commands: connect and flick. From these mechanics, players build complex movement chains and develop mastery over momentum. Second, each stage features athletic courses packed with varied obstacles and interactive contraptions. Despite the environmental variety, the hook system remains the player’s only tool, pushing creativity and skill to the forefront. Finally, frequent checkpoints create a rhythmic retry loop, allowing players to jump back into the action within seconds of a misstep.
Players can try the experience with a free demo available on the Steam store page. The demo includes the first stage and offers approximately 30 to 40 minutes of gameplay.
