Check Out What’s Coming to RuneScape: Dragonwilds
Following a major sales milestone of over one million copies sold, Jagex has revealed what lies ahead for RuneScape: Dragonwilds, unveiling three ambitious new regions set to expand the world of Ashenfall over the coming year. Announced during the latest community summit livestream, Dowdun Reach, Umbral Sands, and Scorned Wilderness will push players deeper into uncharted territory while continuing the ongoing Kuldra Saga, which began with the game’s Early Access launch in April 2025.

The first region, Dowdun Reach, is scheduled to arrive in late March. Dominated by the influence of Zamorak, the God of Chaos, the area centers on a long-forgotten mountain fortress now inhabited by corrupted Black Knights. Players will navigate its sprawling halls, battlements, and inner chambers through layered quests and brutal encounters. Those who venture far enough can gather resources to craft mithril-tier gear, though the inner keep hides even deadlier threats, including Blue Dragons. This update also introduces Fishing as a new skill, alongside an increase to the overall skill cap to level 99.
Launching this summer, Umbral Sands presents a harsh desert ruled by Fuzan, the Red Dragon General. A dynamic heat system forces players to carefully manage exposure, with daytime and nighttime bringing distinct dangers. The region adds iconic equipment such as adamant gear, red dragonhide, yew bows, and staffs, along with the demigod Icthlarin.
The journey concludes in September 2027 with Scorned Wilderness, where players confront Kuldra, the God Eater, in the saga’s final chapter. Alongside these major updates, RuneScape: Dragonwilds will continue to receive monthly content additions and quality-of-life improvements.
