Join the Action in Maid of Salvation
Independent studio ORANGE POPCORN has released Maid of Salvation today on the Nintendo Switch via the eShop. The action title also remains available on Steam, where players can pre-order the full game and try a downloadable demo.
Maid of Salvation blends fluid, rhythm-driven combat with focused exploration, pushing players to master precise timing while experimenting with weapons and abilities found throughout its world. Battles reward creativity and control, encouraging players to chain attacks, react defensively, and adapt their tactics on the fly.
The game takes place in a bleak, dark fantasy setting and follows Shizuka, a maid of purgatory tasked with saving lost souls from a land consumed by fiends. What begins as a sacred mission soon unravels into something far more unsettling, as Shizuka uncovers truths that challenge her beliefs about salvation, duty, and the nature of the world itself.
Combat forms the heart of the experience. Players wield swords, firearms, and special techniques with tight, responsive controls, facing more than 20 unique bosses that demand careful strategy rather than brute force. Each encounter offers multiple approaches, supported by items, secret techniques, and situational awareness.
Beyond combat, the game rewards exploration with hidden quests, optional boss battles, and interwoven stories of other maids, some allies, others rivals. A detailed skill board system allows players to shape Shizuka’s abilities to suit their preferred playstyle, whether aggressive, defensive, or highly technical.
With its challenging battles, atmospheric world, and flexible progression, Maid of Salvation now brings its dark, skill-driven adventure to Switch players.
