Life is Strange: Reunion Brings Back Max and Chloe After 11 Years

Square Enix has announced a new full-length game in the Life is Strange series, bringing back two of its most beloved characters. Life is Strange: Reunion will reunite Max Caulfield and Chloe Price for the first time in nearly 11 years.

The game was revealed during a livestream and is being developed by Deck Nine Games. It will launch on March 26, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store.

In Life is Strange: Reunion, players return to Caledon University, where Max now works as a photography teacher. After coming back from a weekend away, Max discovers the campus has been destroyed by a massive fire that kills many of her friends, students, and coworkers. Max survives only by using her time-rewinding power, which first appeared in the original Life is Strange.

Using a selfie to jump back in time, Max has just three days to uncover how the fire started and try to stop it from happening.

Things take an unexpected turn when Chloe Price arrives at Caledon. Her return is linked to Max’s actions at the end of Life is Strange: Double Exposure. Chloe is struggling with disturbing nightmares and a fading grip on reality, and she turns to Max for help.

For the first time in the series, players will be able to play as both Max and Chloe in the same game. The story switches between their perspectives as events unfold.

Max uses her Rewind power to undo choices, change conversations, and solve time-based puzzles. Chloe brings her sharp tongue and fearless attitude, using her Backtalk ability to pressure suspects and access places Max cannot.

Square Enix says the game continues the series’ focus on emotional storytelling and meaningful choices. Decisions made by players will shape the story, leading to what is described as a dramatic finale to Max and Chloe’s journey.

The Standard Edition of Life is Strange: Reunion will cost $39.99. A Deluxe Edition ($49.99) includes digital extras such as a mini soundtrack, art book, comic, and a behind-the-scenes documentary featuring voice actors Hannah Telle (Max) and Rhianna DeVries (Chloe).

A Twin Pack ($59.99) includes both Life is Strange: Reunion and Life Is Strange: Double Exposure, with immediate access to Double Exposure for those who pre-order.

A Collector’s Edition ($99.99), available only through the Square Enix Store, includes physical items like a vinyl soundtrack, poster, slipmat, guitar picks, and Polaroid-style art cards. In North America, a version without the game will also be available.

Players who pre-order any edition will receive the Max and Chloe Classic Outfits DLC. This bonus will also be included with all purchases made up until May 5, 2026.
