Kowloon Labyrinth Is Launching on Steam on 20th January 2026

Find Your Way Out of Kowloon Labyrinth

Indie developer QuadrupleGames has announced that Kowloon Labyrinth will launch on Steam on January 20, 2026. It will be available for a price of $3.99 USD on PC with support for Windows 10 and 11. Designed as a roguelite horror experience, the title draws heavy inspiration from the legendary Kowloon Walled City, placing players inside its tightly packed, maze-like back alleys.

Kowloon Labyrinth unfolds within a randomly generated dungeon that changes with every run. Players must carefully navigate eerie, otherworldly corridors while avoiding wandering enemies and searching for an escape route. Survival depends on smart movement, quick decision-making, and the effective use of items that offer unique and sometimes unpredictable effects. Multiple difficulty levels add variety and challenge to each playthrough.

The game draws its enemies from Chinese mythology and folklore, creating a constant sense of unease. Players encounter Jiangshi, the legendary hopping vampires, the Heibai Wuchang, who appear as twin reapers of death, and unsettling Buddhist statues that move only when no one watches them. Understanding each enemy’s behavior is essential, as players rarely have the option to confront them.

Progression centers on exploring ever-shifting stages to collect Bagua Mirrors, which players must use to activate escape portals. Atmospheric elements heighten the tension, including distorted portals, radios that crackle to life without warning, and the thunderous roar of low-flying planes that leave a ringing echo behind.

Built with Unreal Engine, the game presents a striking visual style. Neon signs and red lanterns cast a surreal glow across the narrow alleys, with light reflecting through humid air to create a vivid contrast between shadow and color. The result is a haunting and immersive vision of Kowloon that feels both beautiful and unsettling.
