Primal Fray Sets Its Sights on a November 24 Launch

Enter the Rift in Primal Fray

Solo developer Tymoteusz Pietruszka has announced that his turn-based strategy roguelite, Primal Fray, will release on November 24 for PC and all major consoles, including Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo.

Set on procedurally generated, hex-based flying islands, Primal Fray challenges players to build a team of powerful primals and battle through the Rift against tactical enemies and dangerous bosses. Each encounter demands smart positioning and creative use of unique unit abilities to pull off devastating combos and survive the journey ahead.

One of the game’s standout features is its local PvP hot seat mode, offering players the chance to face off on custom maps with any team they can imagine. This mode is designed for competitive fairness, featuring mirrored maps, balanced drafting, and a chess timer to keep the pressure on. Players can even create and share their own maps, turning every duel into a unique strategic experience.

“The main game is mostly about working with randomness and making the best of subpar decisions you can make. Here you can draft whatever team you desire. I consider myself to be quite good at the game but playing PVP makes even my brain melt.”  says Tymoteusz Pietruszka

Pietruszka, who also teaches at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology, developed Primal Fray entirely on his own, crafting everything from the art and code to the game’s story and mechanics. The result is a distinctive blend of classic tactical design and modern roguelike elements that promises to challenge players’ strategic instincts when it launches later this month.
